A Family Registration Certificate (FRC) reflects family-composition data held by NADRA. It is therefore important to distinguish between applying for the certificate and correcting the underlying family record. This guide supports the FRC certificate Pakistan service page.
Understand what the FRC is designed to show
NADRA describes the FRC as a document that reflects and verifies family composition. It is issued under the relevant NADRA rules. The information shown depends on the relationships recorded in NADRA’s database.
Check the family record before assuming the certificate is wrong
If a spouse, parent, child or other relevant relationship is missing or incorrect, the issue may be with the underlying identity/family linkage rather than the certificate-generation step itself. A record correction may need to be completed with NADRA first.
Use the correct identity details
Make sure CNIC, NICOP, CRC or other identity information used in the application is accurate and consistent. A spelling or identity mismatch can affect how family members are linked in the record.
Know the purpose for which the FRC is being requested
An FRC may be requested for administrative, immigration, family, succession or other processes, but another authority decides whether the FRC is sufficient for its own purpose. Do not assume that an FRC replaces every underlying birth, marriage, custody or identity document.
Use NADRA’s current guidance
NADRA’s official FRC page explains the certificate and current application information. NADRA also provides guidance through its official digital services and centres.
